This certification class has been developed for the purpose of certifying concrete technicians who have demonstrated the knowledge and ability to properly perform and record the results of seven basic field tests on freshly mixed concrete.

This two-day course involves a full day of classroom instruction. The second day begins with the written test followed by the performance test. ACI will grant certification only to those applicants who pass both the ACI written test and successfully complete the ACI performance examination.

An Aggregate Testing Technician is an individual who has demonstrated the knowledge and ability to properly perform, record, and report the results of basic field and laboratory procedures for aggregates.

This two-day course involves a full day of classroom instruction. The second day begins with a two-hour written test that is open book followed by the performance test. ACI will grant certification only to those applicants who pass both the ACI written test and successfully complete the ACI performance examination.

Concrete Strength Testing Technician is an individual who has demonstrated the knowledge and ability to properly perform, record, and report the results of four basic laboratory procedures related to the determination of concrete compressive and flexural strength. ACI will grant certification only to those applicants who pass both the ACI written test and successfully complete the ACI performance examination.

This two-day course involves a full day of classroom instruction. The second day begins with a one-hour written test that is closed-book followed by the performance test. ACI will grant certification only to those applicants who pass both the ACI written test and successfully complete the ACI performance examination.

MDOT Class 3 Concrete Technician class requires knowledge in the following areas of concrete construction for MDOT projects:

• Standard Specification for Road and Bridge Construction
• Proportion of Portland Cement Concrete Mixtures
• Concrete Mixture Submittals, Eform, Field Verification, and Revisions
• Special Concrete Mixtures for MDOT Projects

This three-day course includes two days of classroom instruction followed by a written test that is open-book on the third day.  A performance examination is not required.  This class is open to all applicants; however, certification will be granted only to those who have current certifications in Concrete Field Testing Technician (MDOT Class 1), Aggregate Testing Technician- Level 1 (MDOT Class 2), and Concrete Strength Testing Technician.

Written retesting is available for the following classes:

• Concrete Strength Testing Technician
• MDOT Class 3 Concrete Technician
